The Site

Understanding your project is key. Whether it is a complicated renovation or a blank canvas, I can provide obligation free advice on key elements of your site’s design potential, from taking advantage of a northern orientation or capturing stunning views, to the preservation of natural features such as old, beautiful trees.

Fees and Terms

All projects are quoted on request. Once a fee has been agreed upon my preference is to use the Client Architect Agreement provided by the A.I.A. (Australian Institute of Architects). This is a user friendly document that provides fairness, certainty and clarity for all parties with regard to key contractual mechanisms such as building costs, fees, copyright and insurances.

The Design

Together we will create a detailed brief and budget tailored to your unique lifestyle. It will outline all project requirements and provide a framework for the initial estimates and concept designs. From here, an alluring 3D journey will provide you with a clear visual understanding of the styles, spaces and smallest details that will become your home.

Our dialogue will also consider elements that we often take for granted. Natural movement through a space is experienced differently by the elderly, compared to a child for example. I believe designs should be especially considerate with regards to health, access and well-being for all walks of life.

The Process

Once the design has been finalised, I will co-ordinate all of the requirements for the necessary shire approvals and construction permits.

The Contractor

Selecting the most suitable contractor for your project is a big step. There are many variables such as reputation, experience and cost. I will provide a personal recommendation of contractors with whom I have a working history of success and trust, as well as information on the various types of contracts and engagements.
